Well, here is a 2006 Bulldog single blade Barlow being sold as a 1980's knife I sent an email to him about it.

Since he is posting BKC numbers one would have to assume he looked them up. They are not counterfeit, but the ad is very misleading and if he looked them up.

I just got an email from him regarding the first, "no wonder I couldn't find it in the book". He is changing the description and did look them up.

So, he's looked them up and knows that they are all second generation, all 1 of 12. I suggested he may do well to sell them as such. Lets see what happens. Per his email he knows that they are not 1985 knives, just selling them for something they aren't. Bulldog never made an English Jack Knife, or at least never named one as such.

Well, all he did so far was to add my comment to the Bulldog 2006 Barlow, the rest was just a response, "thanks for the info". Well, as I said before he has the BKC #'s, so he had to look them up. Less than honest in my opinion, hope they go cheap!

I have dealt with this ever since I started selling a few Bulldogson ebay.Ill list a 2nd generation knife and call it that and someone will list a similar 2nd generation and call it a vintage 1st generation bulldog. I know that sometimes it is an honest mistake but it almost invariably errs on the side of the highest value. Even people that you know know better do it as you have pointed out. Sometimes they do bring a higher price if they are listed as 1sts. I am sure that is why they do it. It is WRONG.
A few people will admit their mistake when emailed. Most just brush it off
and continue. I think it will be a problem as long as they are bringing higher prices. That is one reason I like to see the Bulldog polls you conduct on this site. At least the folks that monitor this forum will have better knowledge.

I have posted about this guy before,he seems to have a tendency to do this kind of thing a lot.. I don't understand why ebay doesn't do something about people like this.

het johnnie, ebay does not care what or how anything is sold. unless a complaint is filed AND THEN ACTED on. most bogus sales are over in a week. as long as they get their percentage of the sale they look the other way. they do not act on sellers that make them a lot of money. we can't protect every consumer out there but we can be aware of the ebay rippoffs and warn our small knife comunity.

I agree with you Johnnie..Its sad that greed out weighs honesty in the majority of the business world!
