Picked up this Christmas tree handled knife at a knife show. I like these so I bought it. I asked the dealer for info on it and he played stupid which is always a bad sign. Maybe the tang stamp from 1976? Comments?

I have two '76 queen knives (both early, rough versions of mountain man). Both knives have a "76" stamped on the tang just to the right of the Q. The bolster almost completely hides the 76 on one of the blades. I am NO expert, but I would guess earlier than 76 if there is no number.
Pretty knife, but I am very leery of the celluloids and gas, like the other one you just posted. Good luck to you.
