All About Pocket Knives

These are knives that are not spring loaded or gravity open. They need to have a stud, lever, etc. to open the blade. Let`s see yours in this thread

Well, I'll leave all the old ones for you MB. This Kershaw came in the mail today. It has no assistance other than the thumb stud or flipper lever. Very nice knife.

Here's some, Dimitri.
The first one is a Remington. I like the knife, but the scales make my skin crawl.
In the group of four, obviously we have to ignore the 'bakky knife.
I sure like my PAUL and the CRKT.

A ring turn knife...........

Very Cool folks i`ve noticed these over the years but pass them up ,,,,,,no time for a new addiction thanks for sharing them .

Here is another one............

This one is like the ones Joe posted above.

This is the only one of these I have ever seen. It is an assisted open pocket knife, it has two nickle silver knobs on each end that you grasp between your forefinger and thumb and rotate to the right and the blade opens with a snap, to close reverse the knob direction, it also closes with a snap just like a regular pocket knife. Someone must have liked this one as the blades are worn down.

Is it practical? No, it is just a novelty item and seems to have never caught on very well, proving once again the simplest ideas are always the best, all you really need is a nail nick

cool ! i saw one that was basically a rectangle with the corner sliced off , you pulled the slice and the blade deployed ? i didnt get a pic of it but i think it was european ? dont know if it was spring loaded or "gear" ?? but it was kinda neat

I normally don't collect many modern knives - but this
"one off" really cought my eye!

A buddy of mine found this one and one with a tanto blade
and gave me a choice of which one I wanted to purchase.

Easy choice... I HATE tanto blades!!! They POLK me every time
I get near one.

Anyhow, here's a Camillus "Lev-R-Lok". It is a lock back that is
opened by pushing the "lever" down! Pretty cool idea but not the most
attractive knife...

Dimitri -- I think you should have named your thread Unassisted Open. To me Assisted Open would have a spring.

No thumb stud but IMO these Spydercos with their thumb hole are much easier to open than a thumb stud. For what it's worth, this is a Delica.
