All About Pocket Knives

I just traded for a nice looking 1974 Case XX 5383 stag whittler. I have looked in several price guides and cannot find any information on this pattern being produced in 1974. The handles are exceptionally nice. It has beautiful stag handles, they have kinda like a red stag look. It also has nickel silver liners. It has Case XX, USA and 6 dots underneath on front tang and "5383" on the rear tang. At first I started thinking I may have gotten myself a fake knife but everything looks right to me but I am definitely not an expert! The stampings all seem to be right to me. Can anyone give me any info on this knife? Was this a limited run? Approx value etc..? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I added some pics at last minute... If my memory serves me correct, the stag 83 pattern was discontinued in 1970.

Its a fake....no stags were made after August 1970 until the limited stag sets started to come out in 1976. No 83s in those and they (gray scroll, blue scroll, red scroll, etc) were all stainless.

Would be a good user though. Someone just took a 6383 and turned it into a 5383.
