WW1?

Hello i am new here. This is not my sort of thing really. I go for ethnic weapons. Anyway I recently found this military knife. Made by G. Butler and i would think Sheffield England UK. It is quite large when compered to WW2 military clasp knives. The sides of the knife are of some kind of plastic like substance but i do not think it is plastic. There are no military marks on the knife just a key image stamped above the name and no date. It looks quite old but my pics are taken with the flash on. You would need rather large pockets for this knife. Any help on this knife would be nice.

Yes...I believe circa WWI give or take a few years. It has the older style can opener which evolved to a different shape by the 1930s. The handle is made from a hard plastic like substance called Bexoid. The key symbol was the trademark of George Butler & Company of Sheffield. Knives and all sorts of other equipment issued by the British government for military use were stamped with the broad arrow mark aswell. It has a brass bale on the end so could be attached to a belt. The use of brass for the bale suggests that it was made outside of the war years as brass was critical for shells etc. I am no expert, but my best guess based on the above is just before or after WWI likely 1920ish.
