All About Pocket Knives

Someone told me today that they thought some PUMA knives were assembled in China?? I have one marked Solingen, Germany. Does anyone know the story?? or timeline if in fact that is happening??

Another sad story for knife collectors. It almost seems like vintage knives are the only way to go.

I agree redrider, if not vintage, then
knives that were only made in USA, Germany, or what ever country
1 of your favorite knife outfits was from yrs past...
Seems like when I started this great hobby, pastime, obsession, we call knives
back in app.1972, Case was coming out with a new Stag set every year, Hen & Rooster, Fighting Roosters,
KA-BAR, Western, Marble's, geez, you could take your pic what brand,
pattern, etc. that interested you, and they were all good & collectible...
It was alot easier to get smitten with several brands
Lets hope all this imported stuff does not just plain snuff out the knife collectin bug !!!

They haven't been a good knife for quite some time.

I'm guessing the SGB stands for Stainless German blade??? On those knives they are etched German steel w/ no tang stamp and you can tell by holding one that it isn't a Puma. But beware of Puma Tec , from the pics I've seen they are tang stamped Puma with no blade etch. I'm guessing if you could see the other side it has a easily removable little China stamp on it or nothing at all and it says China on the box. They didn't mention anything German on the details of a Puma Tec(enter copyright circle R here) 3 bld.
