All About Pocket Knives

When I bought a Pal Scout knife off of Ebay from TripleF, he threw in a second for a bonus. (thanks, Scott!)
The one I bought, just needed the bail pin replaced. The second had a very well worn pen blade and the Remington style canopener was something I thought might come in handy someday. So, I turned the rest into a slim, easy to carry 2-blade, using the spear and screwdriver blades. I've been using it as an EDC.
These were never meant to be purty knives, so I left the pins crowned at the bolsters. To me, it makes for a much tougher knife.

I really enjoy using old knives as EDCs.
When sharp the steel has a different feel to it when you use the knife.
It may just be my imagination, but when sharp they seem to cut better and hold an edge better than knives made in the last 25 years.

The crowned pins do not detract from the appearance at all and you're right; it's a work knife for Pete's sake. I like the screwdriver/spear blade combo and it's getting to be quite popular (at least on AAPK).

Dale, I agree. Vintage blades perform better. Since 1095 hasn't changed over the years, it has to be in the way it's being treated and tempered. Proper heat treating is costly, so...
Jerry, it is a handy combo. A rather large Gar tried to steal my baitfish the other night and it resulted in one very dead Gar, but stripped gears in my reel. I used the screwdriver to change out the reel, and the spear blade to trim the line after re-rigging. I was back in the water in under 5 minutes.
