Check out the 2nd picture. The stamping is NOT "CLEAN CRISP & CLEAR". The letters touch each other & they are smudgy looking & some look like they were made from periods. Also note that the choil on the secondary blade, factory choils will not look this way. This knife is a terrible counterfeit---Thx Mark

I just found this post and am surprised that there is so little comments on this knife!! Is it a fake??? I watched the knife the first time and was surprised it's back. I emailed the seller and he said the original buyer never paid but I see no negative feedback for a non payer from the seller, strange!!

i do not have any comments on the authenticity of the knife as i am not knowledgeable enuf, but i would be really surprised if smkw would risk tarnishing their worldwide reputataion by selling a known fake. but stranger things have happened.

That stamp looks funny to me. The second n sure looks to have dots that would indicate engraving. All the rounded ends on the letters are wrong, should be squared off. Goins says some knives were made 1931-1938 by a man named Cushner using the Naponoch Knife Co. stamp but even if this is one and the stamp was made on a pantagraph machine the ends would still be squared off . EDM machining with the rounded ends and even letter spacing didn't come into use until the 60's. Just my opinion. Slim
