Uncle Henry's.....same as Schrade?

I have two older Uncle Henry folders. One, what i would call a "Trapper style knife with a clip point blade and a spey blade that says: Schrade+
USA 285UH
on the clip point tang.
The other, a smaller three blade "muskrat" type says: Schrade+
USA897UH
I have no illusions of either of them being of any particularly high value, just was wanting some general information on them. I've searched the info under Schrade and can's seem to find either of them. I was hoping someone here with more knife savy than I might be able to help.

1984 Price Guide:
Trapper: $39.95
Muskrat: $17.95
Based on condition, would not be very hard to figure out current value.

Thanks for the info. The Trapper is what I'd call "near new" and the little muskrat shows some very slight use with some slight sharpening evidence.

You are correct. The Uncle Henry's are Schrade knives. They were Schrade's line of stainless knives. Rough estimate of value for used knives: the 897 $20-30, the trapper a bit more depending on condition. As USA Schrade went under in 2004 I would say the price will continue to go up.

Bryan & I are in the process of posting the dates on the Uncle Henry's in the research section. They should be up before too long.
The 285UH was made from 1973 through 2002. It was called the Pro Trapper. The last retail price in 2002 was $34.95.
The 897UH was called the Signature Premium Stock knife and was made from 1973 through 2004. The 2004 retail price was $39.45.
I do believe the 897 was made prior to 1973, when Schrade dropped the Walden from the name. The 285 may also predate the name change, but I am not sure.
The info I am posting is based on the catalogs I have from 1973 through 2004, when Schrade closed.
The Schrade+ marking on the tang means that the blades are stainless steel.

PS- I just checked Robert Clemente's book & he says the 987 first appeared in Schrade Walden's catalogs in 1967, and the 258 first appeared in 1969.
I have found Robert's book to be an excellent resource for the Schrade collector.
