I do have a version you don't have listed, I have a carbon steel 7OT.

I actually have it listed in my store currently.
I probably should keep it....

Did you notice the rivets on your 7-OT is the same pattern as my 7OT .There is a 7-OT on Ebay listed as Carbon Steel which has the same rivet pattern as my 7-OT These knives must had been made at different time when they had a pattern change. In that case the must be 5 variations

Shearer --

There were 2 separate times when the 7OT was sold:
-- late-1978 thru very early 1982
-- 1990 thru end of days 2004

There are 2 versions of the early 'run' that I've seen:
Both have the 4 visible pins and (I believe) are both high carbon steel
-- your 75th Anniversary (rumored to be only 12,000 sold)
-- same with no etch (120,000? sold)

The later 'run' only had the 3 visible pins and you've identified variations of that.
Not clear to me about the blade steel.

Hope I've not steered you wrong!

-- Howie

EDIT - Forgot that some of the 75th Anniv etch versions may have been given to dealers as 'Free Goods' as a promotion or for hitting sales targets. I have one with a 'Free Goods' band that goes around the outside sleeve.

Hey Keith,
Can you give us a pic of the tang stamp on the 75Th Anniversary 7OT?
I want to see if it is the same as the one I posted.

Thanks ::tu::

Found this one yesterday at a pawn shop in Fayetteville NC; minor wear on the leather scabbard, knife is virtually brand new.

Here's one more variation that will catch you by surprise. It's likely a prototype from the 1981 "Tradesman Series" that never made it to production. If anyone else has seen another of these I'd love to know. I think it's a one-of-a-kind Schrade and I won't be letting it go!

It features milled (engine turned) liners that I have never seen on another.

That is a real nice 7OT.Its the first one I have seen. I have 8, 7OT"s all are different. Some have different tang stamps and there is 4 different size pulls. Some with carbon blades. Some 3pin and 4pin.I think its a never ending story. That's why collecting Schrade's is so interesting.

Cool Dave! First one I've seen like that on the 7OT.

The first 858OT I owned had exactly the same treatment. It had 060 stamped on the bolsters. I think these were done for SMKW.
