All About Pocket Knives

First time I've seen one of these? I think it might be worth adding to a collection, but too rich for my blood right now - and I think the shipping will kill it, even if I could convince the seller to ship here.
But maybe one of the Camillus collectors here would like to have a go?

Thanks Vit, so it isn't strange that I've never seen one like this before! I thought maybe a late model just before they closed down...Anyway, it looks as if it is marked Camillus - is it a fake or is it one of the "new" models produced by the current owners of the Camillus name?

Looks like a legit blade and an legit blade put together to make a Frankenknife.

@ Orvet. It is rather unusual isn't it? And fake or not, I kind of like it!

I saw on Ebay similar knives, marked as "Camillus C17", "Camillus R17", "Remington R17". Camillus did not have models C17 and R17. Remington has a model R17, but it looks very different.
I think these knives are fake. It is possible that they are made with real parts of Camillus.

I had a Camillus CCC 30-06 knife once but traded it. It was a two bladed lock back that had a clip main blade and a blunt nose gut blade as a secondary blade. It was a nice knife. Someone has made the OP'ed knife by putting that single blade in the CCC 30-06 frame. Probably a put together factory parts knife after Camillus closed.

Aimus, that does make a lot of sense - I think you are right - I see there are some factory blades on offer most of the time.

That is a legit Camillus pattern.
You can find it in their catalogs, though I don't remember the years off the top of my head.
Here are pic of one I traded to a buddy recently.

I still have another that has 3 blades, a triple lock back.
It has rubber type handles and is made for a user.
It has the blades shown here & a bone saw.

I will have to dig it out and take a pic some day.

The knife you have pictured is the same knife I was talking about that I had and traded, orvet. It was a nice knife but there was another knife I liked better and so I traded my Camillus CCC30-06 knife off. Camillus was still working when I had mine so I figured I'd get another one someday. Do you think the OP'ed knife is a factory parts put together frankenknife? I think it is and it was put together after Camillus closed and the tooling and everything including Camillus knife parts was auctioned off. I've seen one other Camillus parts frankenknife that was much worser than this one. It was a green with a little yellow color in the delrin handle (Camillus made) Remington marked frame 3 bladed stockman that had a Camillus tang stamped Yellow Jaket etched clip main blade in it. The best I can remember it's sale story was it was a "RARE' "ORIGINAL" and 1 of a kind Camillus/Remington prototype knife. Both companies Camillus & Remington had came together and were working on making these knives but Camillus closed before they ever went into production. I gave the seller an "A" for imagination and an "F" for such a big lie.

No way, that is a factory made knife. Model # C-3.
It was a standard catalog item,
You can see it on page 5 of the 1996 Camillus catalog.

Take this link and scroll down to page 5 and you will see that knife, 3rd knife down on the right.

It is also shown in the 2003 catalog so it was made for a few years at least.

Well, at the very least the eBay listing generated an interesting discussion and pics of some really cool knives!

Dale, do you think the one listed on eBay could have been made up of Camillus parts after the factory closed down? The handle die looks just like that on the C3 but the blade is different - some enterprising
"entrepreneur" using ex-factory parts to make up Frankenkniven?

It could be a Sierra lock back blade in a C-3 frame.

I have not seen it in any catalog.
I think it is likely that it was a cobbled together job.
