Two GEC's with the same serial Number??

Has anyone heard of this happening? There is a GEC that I have found and want at two different shops. The price is within $1.00 either way. They both have the same knife with serial number listed as being the same. One shop clearly shows a picture of the bolster with the number and the card. The other picture isn't at the right angle to see the number on the bolster. Should I just buy both to see if I can get a matched set of factory error? Would it add to their value?
I look forward to thoughts from the collective.

if you can get the knives at 40.00 apiece with tubes & mint i would make the buy. regardless of the serial# the knives are worth at least 40.00 if mint.--HiPower

You let me know when you find mint GEC knives for $40.00 and I'll send you the money.

May want to email both sellers to confirm serial #s
of their actual knives in stock.
Often dealers may use the manufacturers photos so two sites
show same knife but only one has that exact knife.
If you have discovered same model from same series
w/duplicating sernos that would be a neat find.
These days ya never know....

They should be on their way today or tomorrow. I'll get my parents to box them up and send them over to me. One dealer confirmed the number and the other had the number and picture with legible number on their site. The pictures are definitely of two different knives. The anticipation is killing me. I also sent requests to all the other GEC dealers with them in stock to see if they had one with the same number I wanted to see if someone was being clever at the factory.
