Greed and Lust...

Every now and then I get what I call a kick of inspiration. It can happen at any given moment in time. I've been known to rise in the middle of the night, frantic to write down that fleeting thought before it vanishes in a puff of smoke. This was one such case. I believe that a message can be delivered and receive through many diverse vehicles. A poem, parable, a story or song lets say. In this case a simple poem. Not much of a writer just like to share my thoughts.
Greed and Lust
Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly, and I'll treat you to sugarplumbs, candies, the most delicious pies.
Yes come, come fly within...inward, onward, beyond, near the middle back spin
The fly quite ignorant, beguiled from true fact, went inwardly, onwardly unaware he had no wisp of a way back
So gallantly, mightily, recklessly, unknowingly he flew... blinded... he knew not, of the ghastly deed, the criminal plot, her efforts to conjure, to deceive...
to make a fine meal, a delicacy perhaps, surely yes, indeed!
Inwardly, onwardly excitedly he flew... with GREED as his measure, LUST filling his heart, he knew the prize ahead, he knew, yes he knew, he knew!
When suddenly he was halted, he swayed and shook...Trapped...couldn't move, yes, he was hooked!
Caught up if you will in a soft sultry silk, his mind began to twitch and clear...alone... with his guilt
Why was it I? Was it my built? Why am I in this soft sultry silk? What have I done! Help me, help me please!...I confess the shame, the degree, in which I have followed my lust and my greed
In the midst of his torment, his conscience with opulence spent, fate gave a nod, a thumb down tilt...a sharp sting was delivered, a few drops of blood spilt
As he looked through hazed eyes at the sinister smirk on her face, he knew, that she knew, their were more of his race.
