Items like this are now bringing top $$$$. You need to start watching for these things and add them to your collection. I have obtain a few billheads via my good friend Mike "Galvanic 1882" Boxes, papers, checks etc. are great additions. I would have never guessed that this item would go for this amount WOW!!!!!!!

To me one of the most enjoyable aspects of collecting antique pocketknives is the "life and times" of the era the knives were made in, so to me the paper and other items offer key clues. I have assembled a fair collection of billheads, receipts. ad cards, letters and "stuff."
I am earnestly seeking cutlery co. stock certs, so if anyone can point me to them, please let me know.

whats the story behind theis nagle company? perhaps a new thread would be suitable, but it seems interesting either way.

Hi, the Nagle Re-Blade company started in New Jersey and than moved to Poughkeepsie NY. Their clam to fame so to speek was that they designed a knife where if you broke a blade all you did was replace it witha new one. The first patent was with screws to take the knife apart similar to the Miller's Bros knives. Attched is a Picture of a 5 blade pearl. The next was the patent to replace the blades without removing the handles. As you can see in the pictures the blades have a slot in them so you can remove the broken blade and insert a new one. There were not many patterns of this knife. I have 3 pen knives all taking 2 blabes each and 4 jacks. 3 are swell ends and one is an equal end. Also I added a picture of a salesman's roll of blades. J Bruce Voyles at one time called the brand the HOLY GRALL of knife collecting. They are very hard to find in any condition.
