All About Pocket Knives

This one had been hit by a celluloid bomb. Off-gassing had taken it's toll. Fortunately, it was minor compared to some i've seen. I replaced the handles with copper pearl acrylic and cleaned up the metal parts as good as I could without removing much material. Couldn't get all the peppering, but it looks alot better then it did. Really, getting the shield reset was the hardest part.
I don't know much about this line of knives, I was always under the impression that they were made in Japan, but the back of the spear is marked Rogers Wostenholm England. My books say 1976-'78. It's serial #'d 1341. I don't think it was ever used and the quality seems respectable enough.

Good job WB. You're getting better all the time. I was under the impression that the very earliest Parker-Frost were made here in the U.S. (Tennessee or Alabama???) and then production was moved to Japan. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know where all the Parkers were made or in what order.
It seems to me he had them made all over the place.

I found this little tidbit in one of my books. Rodgers Wostenholm Ltd. was a division of Imperial from 1977-1982 and was located in Sheffield. I guess Parker-Frost must have had these made under contract from them. The timeframe's right.
Dale, the acrylics are very fun and easy to work with. They come in an endless number of colors and can be polished to a mirror finish. I like 'em alot.

Perry, like you I love my celluloid! But, when that stuff decides to go south, there ain't a nothing you can do but buy it a ticket and hope it ain't too late.
I was grittin' my teeth the whole time I was takin' off the old handles. There's one just like this that I think MB posted awhile back, that had the liners plumb eat in half. Amazing what a few gas fumes can do!
I had a handful of Fight'n Roosters a few years ago that I bailed on because of this problem. Wish I had 'em back now. I'd perform the same surgery.
