All About Pocket Knives

the smooth bone conductor gives a perspective of the big boys in snakewood, pioneer bone & stag. i can hardly grasp the utility of these blade types but love to look at them. do any members carry & use these patterns? i am very interested how these larger knives might be preferred, of course all knives can cut but uses of these big patterns are curious to myself.---HiPower

Sent my bro a Whaler EO and a sheath. He uses it quite a bit, most recenly he was telling me how
great the knife worked to cut some brake air bags off of an old truck he was scrapping out. I have not
EDC'd one of them yet, but considering the LJ. The large pin size and liner-to-tang surface area are
the knifes strenghts I think, making it very durable for hard use. The massive blade could be used and
abused and resharpened for many years and still be very functional. No way a small frame knife is going
to survive that kind af use for an extended period.

I carry my Sunfish and Whaler. Actually, I carry all my GEC's- not at the same time of course! But I do carry a small Tim Wright sheath knife everyday, plus my Swiss Army that's part of my keys, plus a pocket knife- most often a GEC. So while I wouldn't necessarily pull the Whaler out to open an envelope, they do get pocket time. I'm just waiting to run across a 6" rope that needs cut in half, I'm ready to go!
