Prayers Again.

My Grandmother (On my Mom's side) had a double knee replacement surgery yesterday. Everything went well and she was doing great, this morning around nine, she became completely unresponsive and when she came to, she couldn't move her right side. They believe she had a stroke, or a mini stroke. Praise the Lord she is doing great again and has been back to her normal self, but they moved her to a bigger hospital. We are blessed being so close to Pittsburgh because of the great care.

I just ask for prayers for her, she is in a ton of pain and this threat of a stroke is scary. She is really being a champ and fighting hard, hopefully the tests will prove all is well.

Thanks guy

I'm hoping for the best Johnnie....

There's BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG money in hip and knee replacements, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of good for the recipients. I don't want to tell them now, it's not the plac, but I don't like 'em.

johnny twoshoes, Went back and checked which side of your family had the recent loss of your grandfather, this is the other side but just as dear to you I'm sure. It seems our prayer lists never end and it's good to know that God's grace never ends. Praying the Lord will give her the healing she desires. Treefarmer

Caleb, your grandma has my prayers.
That is really painful surgery, I can't imagine having them both done at the same time.
The threat of blood clots and/or stroke is pretty scary.
I will be praying!

Guys I ask that you would all continue in prayers.
My Grandmother suffered another stroke last night. So far there has been little improvement in her health, she can't move her right side very much, but she was able to pick her arm up. She can't speak right now. They did some tests, but we won't know the extent of the damage until later today or sometime tomorrow.

Prayers are desperately needed guys.

Thank you all for praying, it has really boosted the morale.
We just got word from the doc and it seems like we can expect a better recovery than what we had initially thought. He says that there is damage, but in his experience he believes that she can overcome this. She will be in the hospital for weeks he said, so we have to keep faith and be there for her.

I know she knows who we are, she just can't say it.

Time and healing, the Lord will be with us all I know.

God Bless my AAPK brothers, you guys are so great to have.
I have been enjoying the many threads this place has going, it is passing the time well and a joyful spot at a dark time for us.

Thanks for the update Caleb.
It helps us to know better how to pray and what to pray for.

We will keep praying.

We see improvement everyday and we praise the Lord. She fully understands us and we can get a smile on her face. She is definitely improving and she will be going to a stroke recovery and rehabilitation center soon. She shakes her head yes, or no if she wants something, so she is definitely with us and our conversations. We need prayers for recovery and pain.

Thank you all so much for the devoted prayers.

Thank you Paul, we are all staying united and praying for good things.

Praise the Lord, the recovery is coming along fantastically.
She said, "yeah" today, it was the first thing she has said since her stroke. She surprised us all and herself, she tried hard and was able to say about 12 different words. We are thankful for everyone of them. She repeated the words a few times and was so excited to be talking again. When we left, She was really played out, so the road to full recovery will take some time, but the Lord is with us.

Thanks again for all the wonderful prayers sent to our Lord.

You can add my prayers as well, Mr. Twoshoes. We are about to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and I pray that your Grandmother is touched by His glory. ::pray::

I'll echo what Charlie said. I just found this thread from your link in the other. I have to confess I only read a couple sections of the forum and did not even know this one existed.

You all are in our prayers.

Thanks for the added prayers guys.

The recovery is coming along splendidly and she should be back home with us on Tuesday. She is taking step and walking, but she is still having some pain. Her speech has greatly improved and she is getting the words in her head out a little faster. Prayer has been the only real medicine and thank the Lord it is the best. Please just continue to pray, a little mention to the good Lord is wonderful.

Thanks again guys

Thanks for the update and good news. This type of recovery is often much slower than we want, glad to hear she is making progress. I'm praying not just for her physical healing, but that she and all who are caring for her do not give in to discouragement.

Standing by our elders in these times is holy work. We're all walking towards the banks of Jordan. Sometimes one's work isn't done yet. Other times, our work is to walk to edge with them.

When my Grandmother had her strokes (15 years ago, she long since has passed) her speech never fully recovered. She remained quite feisty in the midst of it. My wife got a new name - "the other one" - as in, "Where's the other one?". Family prayers were ended with a loud, "Alright". I was never sure if that meant "Amen" or "I'm hungry, why are you all taking so long?"

Glad you're grandmother is recovering. Stroke recovery takes a long time and it's never clear what will return. Grace covers it all.

I'm glad to hear that she is doing better and coming home soon. Sometimes getting back home with family is better medicine than what they have in the hospital. I'll remember her and the rest of your family in my prayers. Have faith my friend and trust in the Lord.
