Case XX INFO 19XX9...TESTED XX 61011 1/2 SS
I am unable to read the last date number..it is behind the swing guard. The info I can see is 19XX9.The tang stamp is 61011 1/2 SS. The Tin does not have a sticker or c.o.a.. Any help appreciated concerning this knife and the tin.

I can't tell if that is yellow bone (1995) or honey bone (1996) .

I think this is a " Case Classic Series " knife ...... if so, it is yellow bone.
Look at the tin and see if Pennsylvania is mispelled ?

Yes in fact the state "PENNSYLVANIA" has been spelled "PENNSYVANIA" on the Tin.

deanmm56, You are correct on the spelling, you are very observant. All I was doing was looking and drooling over the fine looking knife. Treefarmer

I appreciate your kind words. I should of said ..does that provide anymore useful information? By the way I would have not noticed the misspelled word until you brought it to my attention.

Curt,
The Cheetah, ( 6111 1/2 ) was made for 2 years in the Case Classic Series .... 1995 and 1996
1995 yellow bone .... quantities made 125 , book value $200.00 ...... real value ( an estimate only $80-110 )
1995 yellow bone .... " " 80, book value $275.00 ...... estimated real value ( 125 - 150 )
Hope this helps ..... darn near impossible to swing the guard enough to figure out the year ... but sometimes you can wiggle it enough and shine a flashlight under the guard to see the year ..... worth a try.

I thought the stainless steel bladed Cheetahs were made later 1990's in the Classic series and the misspelled Tin box came with the early released 1990's Classic knives and the Tin box was stopped and recalled very soon after the first release of the Classics knives by Parker because Case Cutlery and Parker had a go around about the misspelling and the cost of recalling the Tin boxes?

No, the tin boxes came out with the elephant toes and the cheetahs around the late 95 / early 96 stampings.I have tins with both those 2 years stampings in them.

Can you guys tell me if this is a part of the Case Classic Series and if so, what would the value be on this on! It is a little differnt with the arrow head shield and the long pull!
Older knives are like women, they are beautiful, pricey, and rarely do you find the good ones!

chevy that is a cool looking Cheetah. FYI that shield is a bomb shield.
