Bill Akers and Backwoods …?

I just picked this knife up from a fellow collector - his pictures, I haven't received it yet.
Looks just beautiful to me … 1095 Steel, 3-3/8" blade, burl (maple I think) …
Has anyone here got any experience with Bill Akers and/or Backwoods knives?
Thanks,
Paul

I'm not familiar with the name but from the looks of that knife, I wouldn't mind taking it on about a ten year test drive. Nice looking knife.

Paul, check Blade Forum. There's a long thread dedicated to the knives.

Thanks, Phil - I received it and the fit and finish are as good as they look in the pictures. Ergos are really nice too, of course YMMV ...
All in all, very nice work.
Thanks for the link Jerry, BladeForums is where I found the knife, and since posting this thread I have exchanged a few PMs with the maker.
Nice guy, and he just tools along making beautiful knives one at a time ... I suspect this may not be my last from him.
Thanks again, fellas!

… and here's my second knife from Bill Akers … 4.25" blade, 8.75" overall ...
… the pictures truly do not do it justice …

Thanks fellas.
They are solid, Phil ...
and Tank, that last sheath is a real nice fit, too.
The man does very nice work, I will say that.
