All About Pocket Knives

I know there was a post made awhile back about pearl knives and it runs about 30 pages so I figured to start another one.I may have posted some of these before but now I have ID'ed them.Spent most of the day just re-photographing and cataloging one knife box that has about 600 knives in it. I figure I should be done doing this by this coming winter. ID of knives is in the captions underneath the pictures.Enjoy.

You really should Brett just in case. I started to do this ten years ago when I was first diagnosed with throat cancer and we didn't know what was going to happen.I also contacted several of my good friends to assist my wife in disposing of my various collections(vintage cars;artwork;guns;and knives among other things)should anything happen to me.These were people I knew would take care of her.Fortunately they never had to do this.

A couple months ago I was having what appeared to be heart problems and fortunately it is treatable but I am no spring chicken(68 in January)so I was prompted to resume my labors.I also had lost many of my pictures and descriptions in my document file(the electronic gremlins are angry with me I guess)so I am slowly replacing them.

Continuing the thread;here are some pearl scaled fruit knives.

Awesome knives!! I dig a ton of them a lot but that Gerber silver knife has a special place for me because I carried one back in the mid 80's for some time. I just always dug it.

K7 your collection never ceases to amaze me.

Some day I'd like to pitch a tent in your yard and spend about a week just drooling over your knives.

J.D. CASE CO. KANE PA 8363 Lobster knife. 3-1/4" closed. All blades have following stamp...

Stamp is lengthwise on the 2 secondary blades. Interesting notch in the kick the is consistent with Sarge's book on secondary blades. looks like smoked pearl in the pics but I would consider it somewhat smokey!

Bonehead and PA Knives were nice enough to provide some input on the previous post. More pics on previous post also.

Sweet vintage MOPs!

Here's my two most recent pick-ups, a Cattaraugus 22163C and a HSB OVB with aluminum flowered bolsters. You have to love the blues and reds in vintage MOP.

Hey Bret and Kathy. BTW, very awesome pearls that you both have in the MOP part 1 thread. Nice colection that you both have. Among all the other pearls by members posted. Something about the vintage pearl handles that you just don't see in later eras. I agree with K7N that you should catalog your collection. I am doing this crudely on MS Excel for now until I get/look into some of the knife collection software that I have heard others post about.

Real pretty pearls redrider. Have to agree with you on the vintage MOP versus modern MOP.

Holy crap K7N, how many knives do you own? All the knives you posted are freaking beautiful. I do especially like the odd leg knife and the Southington on the second pic of the original post. What year is the CASE XX079? Some real beauties you have.

Here are a couple that posted elsewhere on the forum that are relevant to the thread.

First pics is a CASE Bradford 8261. May have been rehandled in some sick smokey pearl many years ago. Maybe original, opinions vary.
Second pics are a CASE BROS CUT CO. unknown pattern (as far as I know). One of the only pearls I have with the with the "TESTED XX" stamp on the blade.
