Good eye ! The only bone used for tested era 6383 whittlers was greenbone . The shield is from the 1970's era . It has probably been shaved down and re-stamped .

Shaved and restamped or a Tested Era blade was used to replace the original master blade. I have seen some beautiful Redbone Tested knives, but they ALL came from the collection of Bob Farquarson (sp?) a former president of W.R. Case. He was around at a time when a man in his position could easily have had such knives made for him (and did). Unless that knife can be traced back to such a collection, I'll have to stand-by the first part of this post.
