All About Pocket Knives

Hello you GEC fans.

I am looking for a friend that wants only GEC knives.

They have to be very low production made like 25 or less.

Perhaps if you guys have, and photos of some and add some info on them he could see what he is trying to collect.

This is going to be a tough one.......any total run of knives 25 or less by the time pictures are posted the knife will long be gone to purchase.....
If you would look at a thread titled 2012 Short Runs ( these will be less than 12 in most cases) most of these are already gone....though as a heads up he still can find some of the Tidioute Ebony's- Antique Brown Bone-Ruby Red and the Northfield Plum Bone. The Tidioute Frontier Bone could be arriving to distributors today. And keep your eyes open for he Tidioute #23 in Pioneer Bone (17pcs.)
And if he likes Ivory the Northfield #25 Sunfish which was a regular production run but with small numbers(how many don't know but less than 25) can be found.
He better be fast at the keyboard....you know the saying you snooze you lose.....



Crap I'm not all knowing............Good Morning Jim,I saw your post on AAPK and you mentioned that Frontier Bone had been changed to Pioneer Bone.Just for your information,that's not entirely correct. Pioneer Bone is very similar to Frontier Bone,but will have texture,ridges and valleys,and so on,it will not be smooth. It will have the same coloration as Frontier though. Frontier Bone,as we know it from previous runs,will still be produced. It will be a smooth bone.

Oh...just checked and are two distributors with a 1bl and 2bl Northfield #23 in Burnt Stag.....

and almost forgot the #85 2011/2012 Transition pieces in Micarta, jigged bone and Buffalo all less than 20 ea. and if I'm not mistaken the only other time this was done was in 2006/2007

I have picked up more than a few of the 2011 #24 and #73 short runs. Most of them are gone before they get listed. The one that I really like is a 235111EC Turuoise Jig Bone with brass bolsters.

Welcome Nordic! The 73 is one if not my favorite knife pattern and seeing that handled one is sweet! I really like it
I have only seen the single blade 73 in stag and now this one, anyone else have any different handles?

Here's another 235111EC NF Green Herring Bone Jig with brass bolsters. It's indicated that there were 5 of these made. It's not quite as striking as the turquoise, but different.

Nice brass bolsters! I liked that Bradford Bullet awhile back on SMKW.com thats the only one I new of with brass bolsters.

Here's very low run knife, The #89 Executive Whittler in Tortoise Shell, 1 of 7 made in 2010 and all unserialized! I have this one. The one in the back of the shot is a 1 of 47 made in Tortoise Shell, number 03. These knives are the best made folders I own, PERIOD! The workmanship is second to none. It's awfully hard to make a splitback whittler and all 3 blades line up perfectly, no scratches from the blades touching, they just don't and that aint easy to accomplish.

Found this short run (1 of 7 ),Mink Skinner,in Pearl LG+____sorta like a ""baby muskrat""___the California Clip Blades,are a favorite of mine

For me it's allways nice to see these 46 and Monk.

Very nice Bigimbass! Some people don't like the acrylics but I think it's some of GEC's best work they do.

I dont have any acrylics but have been thinking of getting one. Do they still pin shields on the acrylics and micarta?(probably a dumn question) GEC makes a great knife!

We all can coun't on 46 to show us some YELLOW GEC.

So I am adding one YELLOW I have that does not get shown very much.
