Hey Everybody. I just found this site and registered. I'm new to collecting, although I guess I've had a knife in my pocket or on my belt for the better part of 60 years. Anyway I have an old single blade pearl handle gents knife that you have to tap on one end to open. There is no name, just some patent numbers. Is anyone familiar with this kind of knife or know anything about them?

Pictures are always welcome and most of the time necessary to properly identify the knife in question.

While I'm no expert there are plenty of people here that can help you.

Maybe an Imperial Trick Opener?
Imperials had lots of patent numbers on the tang and they made knives
that you can only open if tipped in one direction. Other makers did them
also. Does the pearl look real or imitation?

Does it look anything like this?

It sounds like an Imperial trick knife, but a picture would tell for sure.
