The above knife from an AAPk store has all the appearances of a Robeson made knife, yet with a Kingston blade etch.

An interesting instance of outsourcing a knife.

It's a real beauty too. I really had to restrain myself.

My 15th Edition Collectors Knives guidebook lists Kingston USA as being a stamp of D.Devines & Sons and Ulster, Ellenville NY, 1915-1958.

Ps Nice easy-opener.

I don't know who made the knife, but it certainly is a Dandy.

I agree the bone looks like 1940's Robeson bone.

charlie, yours doesn't have the kingston etch.
steve, because you say outsourcing, does that mean that kingston is a robeson also?
i have the very same looking robeson easy open knife, it has no blade etch or shield. has the half circle robeson tang stamp around usa with cutlery under that. doesn't have a pattern number on the blade. although it is an unused knife, it has well tarnished bolsters and backsprings. no doubt caused from bad storage.
that posted knife would be in my collection too if it wasn't that much moola. same goes for that imperial easy open up there.

What I meant was that I believe that Robeson made the posted knife on contract for Kingston. I have seen and owned a number of examples of the same pattern, same tooling, same bone with Robeson markings. It does not match any knife that I know of made by Kingston (which was actually Ulster/Imperial). So my conclusion is that Robeson made it for Kingston, most likely to help them fill a military contract.

Didn't Kinston also make a version of the USN1 fighting knife? I thought I have seen Ka-bar, Pal, Kingston & a few others...
