I don't like the way the jig on the pile scale goes all the way to the bolsters, or maybe I'm just being paranoid ::paranoid:: . I don't know anything of this pttern, so I'm not sure why I' meven replying ::shrug::

right off the bat, the the front tang has been shaved and re-stamped. the jigging is inconsistant.

go to elephanttoenails.com. there is a good tested toenail you can compare.

It looked to me that the mark side tang had been shaved and restamped. Possibly the the new tang stamp is engraved.

It looks fully authentic to me, but has been heavily buffed.

i'll stand by my obsevation. the mark side of the tang has been reduced significantly. the stamp appears crisper than would be if it were buffed that much. it also looks out of kilter to me. the other tang lines appear more normal.
my opinion of course, probably not worth .02 cents.

Other than the buffing, it's an honest old knife.
