68 White Owl

Although small, the little 68 packs a lot of blade into a very compact package. Fits the new knife slips perfectly, and now I know what the bail is for! :D

I actually like this pattern a lot more than I thought I would at first. I've been test drivin' a dead skunk/clip version for about a week and I love it. ::super_happy::

I think I want another one but haven't seen one yet that speaks to me. Wish the N'fields were bail-less.

It's a great looking knife but I'm not a fan of the bails. I'd really like to see a bail-less Northfield with tortoise shell acrylic. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Guys, I felt the same about the bails at first, but it is so low profile that you'd hardly notice it in your pocket. Really, it's just an extra "bell or whistle". Although, if you're like me and wear coveralls on occasion, you know that stuff slips out of the pockets easily while you're working. This could be the answer!

Great looking knives guys! I just may have to get one of the Northfields.

Anybody have a #54 that you can photograph next to a #68 White Owl for comparison? Thanks in advance.

The 54 has square tangs but the 68 does not.

Those are great looking knives Barry. The stag is nice but the bone handled knife in first pic is absolutely beautiful. I may have to give GEC another chance with that one ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Tom, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I agree with you on the bone spear blade, they are a very nice knife. In fact, all of the Northfields are extra nice in the 68 pattern.

Some good ""SIZE"" comparison photos(borrowed photos), of the #68 White Owl (bottom) and the #66 Mink Skinner(top)----notice that the #68 is thinner ,because of only one backspring*** :)

also some "Genuine Stag" price comparison,of the knives, when released*** ::hmm::
#66 Mink Skinner serialized,Genuine Stag---$149
#66 Bullwinkle J. Moose serialized,Genuine Stag---$120
#68 White Owl serialized,Genuine Stag---$145

Unless you want a trim, compact little pocket knife with great classic style, superb design and meticulous execution, don’t buy one of the 68’s. These knives are hard to put down once you pick one up. I don't dislike ‘em a lot! ::tu:: ::tu::

Couldn't deal with it. Barry had the one I wanted, stag with a spear blade, so when my finger twitched, I pulled the trigger. Thanks Barry, it's great doing business with you.

Barry's pictures.
