Has anyone ever tried to bleach old, already dyed bone? What do you use, laundry bleach, peroxide,???

You might try the search function TJ.
As I recall there was a thread, but it was a sharing of ideas.
I am not sure if there was anything definitive put forth. It has been a while since I read it.

Never use laundry bleach for the whitening of any bones. Within a few years the bone will begin to quickly degrade. Use peroxide, if the dye is oil based it also may need to be soaked in HOT water with dawn dishsoap added. It is better if the water can remain heated, like with a submersible aquarium heater to help draw out oils. Soaks in acetone will also help remove oils and dyes. For the final treatment I recommend 40 volume peroxide from Sally's beauty supply.

Thanks MM. I did use peroxide but just the 3% stuff from the store. It worked pretty well. I need to get on to shaping the little piece for patchting the Queen #10 now.
