Marbles knife

(Remove crud and rust if there is any and oil it)

Nice old knife, I would not clean it. Is it a recent purchase?

Your first post was a wowser.
Your knife is worth several hundreds of dollars.
As stated by others, do not clean the knife. Don't sand it. Don't buff it. Don't use any kind of abrasive on it.
Wipe it down with Mineral Oil, U.S.P., easily obtained at any local pharmacy.
Congratulations on owning a great old knife.
It looks like you attempted to load three additional photos that aren't included. Try again?

The knife was actually a hand me down I'm an avid outdoorsman and beginner knife collector most of my knives don't hold much value other than to me. I have a few others I really like the first being the shrade which I use a lot and this fillet knife (puukkoo?) which is pictured maybe you can tell me something about it has hand scribed writing on it I know in the blood vain there are two or three words hard to see and translate. And some writing below on the blade even harder to see. Thanks for your answers on the marbles knife It's a real nice knife. p.s. somebody else restained the wood on the shrade and got it on the brass how would I get that off and can I tell what model/tr. the knife is it only says shrade u.s.a. lb.7 at the base of the blade.

I don't know if you realize it, but if your starting a collection, you're gonna have a tough time adding one any more collectable then that Marbles! That knife is considered by most collectors as "Top Tier"!
Can't tell ya much about the Puuko, atleast some seem to be fairly collectable.
As far as the Schrade, LB(lockback)7 is the model number. Not sure about all of 'em, but I think the LB marked knives were part of the Uncle Henry line. Fairly collectable since Schrades aren't made in the U.S. anymore. But, I also consider them to be one of the best outdoorsman knives you can have.

Good catch. These old Marbs are really rare and some sell nearly a thousand bucks. One of the flea bayers got one for around $500, polished it to look new and (I think it was a shill ) it went for around $1100 on auction !
Here is a photo of the one that was my Granddad's. I wouldn't take a mint for it because of the sentimental value. It is probably 80 years old or older. I have never put a stone to it but it is still very sharp. They used great steel back then.
