Who made this incredible knife?!?! Worth??

I am an amateur knife collector and found this beauty last year at a flea market for $30. I can find no maker's mark, only a "12" on one side and a "16" on the other. Can anyone tell me the age, maker and/or the value of this great old knife? It is very well made, very heavy, and has a great look to it. The bone is split on both sides at the very end, but it is in otherwise wonderful condition. Thanks!

WOW! ~ Why can't I find knives like that?
It looks like a Sheffield, England knife to me, but it could be of German orgin. WOW AGAIN! Could it be a George Woodhead or Clements from Sheffield?

That is not a German type of corkscrew.
I have an Italian knife (plain wood scales) with a bolster like that, marked "Cal. 12" and "Cal. 16" - the size of the shotgun shells the bolster was made to extract.
My knife has one blade, the same shape as this master blade.
This knife is much nicer than mine.
