What is the deal on the pictures? Some of them takes forever to load. This just started.
Are some of the members using some host that is causing this?

Did you get a new camera? Did you make a change in your camera to the resolution of the pictures you take? The first question one needs to ask is, "What changed?". I'm fairly certain there's nothing another member could do to influence the length of time it takes your pictures to load. Do you know how to check the size (in kilo bytes or mega bytes) of the pictures you're loading.

Those are places to start. Let us know.

Stockman, do you mean that some are taking a long time to render in the browser? I've noticed that too, but I think it is just some posters like placing their photographs inline and if it is a lot of pixels it takes a long time to render. With the quality of some of these pictures, it's worth the wait. If people are posting really large pictures though it makes sense not to place inline, that way the wait only comes when you click on the picture to enlarge it. I usually resize mine to 1024 pixels wide and don't place them inline, this puts a small image in the thread which can be enlarged by anyone wanting to see the detail, but doesn't make the thread slow to load.

One thing that I have noticed since the crash, both the site and my hard drive, is that when when I post pics after entering text, the pics end up before the text and in reverse order. I have to load my pics last - first and then cut and paste to the end of the post

TJ, it looks like you are the only one experiencing that problem.

A default setting may have been changed somehow.
Are you automatically logged-in from a desktop short cut?

If so, try logging out and closing the site from your browser.
Then use your browser to find the site again and log-in, then create a short cut.
This should revert to the default settings of the site.

You will end up with 2 shortcuts to the site on your desktop.
The second shortcut will have an appendage after it, eg; AAPK (2)

If this fixes the problem - simply delete the first shortcut from the desktop.

Some of the pics are hosted off site. I use photobucket, so there is a lag between the time you click the link and the picture shows from wherever PB's location is. Also the size of the pictures may have something to with slower load times.

I'am still not liking the pictured linked together they take sooooo loooong to load that
I have stopped looking at them. We have always had good pictures on this site, why the

If it's just that a posted picture takes a long time to load on your machine, it could be that you need to delete your temporary internet files, they can really slow your machine down and, sometimes there is a tracking cookie in there that will do the same thing. Do a little house-cleaning and try again.

What TJ said. You should do this about once a week. It's amazing how much stuff builds up over just a few days. Emptying your recycle bin every couple of weeks is a good idea too.

EGG-ZACKLEY!! One web page, if there are pictures on it, may add 15 temp. files to you computer. Each item on the page is "logged" in, so to speak.

Try downloadind ccleanerhttp://www.piriform.com/ccleaner it's free and easy to use. After running cleaner click on registry and scan for errors. If you have any click fix all issues. I do this once a week. A must have.

For cleaning out Temporary Internet files go to top of page and click tools, you get a drop down menu. Click internet options which opens a box, click delete which opens another box click delete again. If you want to see how much is in the temp. int. files before deleting them click settings which opens a box and click view files. This is for a PC and not an Apple machine. Hope this helps.

Click on tools in the top left corner. In the drop down window, click on the box that says delete temporary files. Leave all others unchecked for now, i'll explain more later. Go down and click on delete. A small tracking window will pop up that says please wait while files are deleted. Just let it run it's course, it's only deleteing junk you don't need stored on your computer. During the course of this it will probably change to say deleting add-ons. That's ok too. If you've never done this it could take awhile.
To delete cookies, go to tools, click on delete cookies. Also click on the box that says preserve favorites web site data. This will save any of your log in info from your favorites list and keep you from having to re-enter the info. Be aware that any sites not in your favorites list though, you will have to re-enter the log in information.
Personally, I don't delete cookies. My internet security provider does a pretty good job of deleting none essential cookies, so I don't worry about it. If you do delete the cookies, just make sure you have all your different names and passwords ACCURATELY written down first. I have a couple that I failed to get capital letters (or something) written down right and actually had to open a new account on those sites, because I never could figure out what the proper password was.
Anyway, that's the proceedure I use and do it about once a week. It does make a difference.
