Help with machete ID.

I bought this machete at a garage sale yesterday. As I was clearing vines & brush off my property, I noticed a little more quality in the machete than I usually find in a junk machete. The balance and weight was good and it seemed to have better steel and a nice edge. I found some writing on the blade but it is weak. I drew a picture of what I can see and put question marks on what I can almost see. 21 1/2" overall, 16 3/4" blade. Does this look familiar to anyone? Thanks, Al

That would be an old Legitimus Collins machete, made in the USA. Nice one there. ::nod::

Some neat info when you Google Collins also. Great find!

Here's something I found in one of my old books, dated 1871, Titled "One hundred years of progress of the United States."
