Cleaning Case Tested Knife

I have a Case Tested 6288 knife that is in great shape with full blades and scales with no damage. Even the bolsters are shiny and have no dings. The blades have a patina with some spots on them that prevents the knife from being a real show piece when compared to some of the older knives shown on this forum with their beautiful shiny blades. I know some people who like the patina but somehow I would like to liven the blades up a little but don't want to do anything that would hurt the knife.
Is there any means of doing some minor cleaning on the blades that is recommended? Or should I just be happy with it as it is?
I'm working on a light box so that i can share some photos.
Thanks for any recommendations or advice.

Hello Randy,Have you tried any polishing cremes? If not heres one that I have had success with,Its called MAAS and you can get it at Walgreens.
You could also use simichrome which is probably what most people here at the forum use.I personally like MAAS better. It seems to do more with less effort.

I would keep the knife well maintained by using semichrome or other similar brands and Ren Wax. Maybe oil the joints from time to time and apply a little mineral oil to the scales periodically. As far removing the patina with a professional cleaning, I would not. JMO

I know People are going to scoff at this but the only way that I know to make the blade look new again is to use sand paper....Depending on the severity of the discoloration,I start out with 6 or 800 and work my way up to 1500.When I get to the 1500 I apply MAAS{polishing creme} directly with the 1500 sand paper...This is a technique that I have used,I am not saying that this is what you should do...A lot of collectors are against buffing of any sort.
PS,I have also had descent results using my dremel with a felt wheel and polishing creme..
PSS,This is a knife I'm still working on,sorry I don't have a before pic,but it was really, really bad...the next one ,I will get a before and after pic.
