Nice knives! I really like that jigging on the bone handeled one, BUT that ebony is PERFECT for that style of knife.

IMBand: You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I saw early on that I couldn't afford to collect all brands of knives (wish I could ), so I just went with the brand that I liked best.

I'm really enjoying your posts of these great old Bokers!

I remember as a kid my father held Tree Brand knives in very high esteem--unfortunately I lost the one he gave me. I'll have to rectify that someday and hope I can find some as nice as yours!

thegreedygulo....nice collection of Bokers.

Here's my one and only dogleg jack. Problem is, I don't know who made it. Looks like a Remington but its a 3 3/4" knife and all the books I have with Remington knife patterns only show it as a 3 1/2" knife, not 3 3/4". If it had any tang stamps, they're all gone and forget about a blade etch. A nice old honest knife.

I find it interesting how this thread lay dormant for over five years and then carried on as if there had been no hiatus.

Very nice knives posted by all. But I really like last three Bokers in thegreedygulo's OP. And that one with the ebony handles best of all. Looking at the photos I suddenly realize that I have not a single dog leg in my collection. Ebay, here I come!

Those GECs are nice. I would settle for a couple of new ones! Like I said earlier, just looking at this thread has got me searching Ebay. Have you noticed that the dog leg is kind of like a reverse wharncliffe?

Indeed, it makes you wonder just how many of our traditional patterns were created by clever cutlers rearranging things using cut stock on-hand from other patterns to create new products without a whole lot of R&D and prototyping behind it...

The Coyotes shouldn't run you any more than around $60 or so at this point while a mint Beagle probably shouldn't fetch more than $80 (knowing the sheer number they made and how many sat around at the dealers for the whole year), barring the serialized short runs. I had to let a jigged bone 'yote go after it passed $75 because I was frankly going to be a simian's relative before I would pay more than retail+shipping for a knife I couldn't be inspired to buy on first-run. The camel bone, stag and micarta #18s are all beauties, though, and I continue to chase them down as I can. I even got the camo acrylic yote although I can't see any tactical applications for it whatsoever.

A dogleg knife is one having a serpentine (or “s”) curve-shaped frame, often with one end larger than the other. (Visualize a dog’s hind leg). See the pictures in this thread for examples of what that means. They’re typically larger than 3 inches and have clip master blades, but as with most things cutlery, there are exceptions!
