All About Pocket Knives

I just finished reading the article on Queen Cutlery in the research section of this board. Having just purchased a S&M premier (pic here)http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... php?t=2645 I had a couple of questions: The tang stamps are marked New York, not Titusville. The box, I believe (don't have it in front of me here at work) has both Queen cutlery and New York Cutlery Co on it. Why don't the tang stamps say Titusville? I'm new and perhaps a bit confused. Love the knife, however. And I will use it.[/url]

I do not know the answer but looking at the knife it certainly resembles Canal st I do not know if they are doing contracts for them or not. Sorry I cannot help more. LT

The original Schatt & Morgan company (predecessor to Queen) was originally located in New York (Gownada?) before moving to Titusville and I think that Queen brought back the idea of stamping some of the new Schatt and Morgan knives New York instead of Titusville just to commemorate the original location.

Thanks. Sounds reasonable to me. I was looking at the box and it has Queen Cutlery, New York Cutlery Co and Schatt & Morgan all on the box.

I was just now looking at the knife. On one side of the tang it does say SM New York, but on the other side the tang is stamped Queen Cut Co, Titusville, PA
