All About Pocket Knives

Hi guys I've had these two Cases since the early 90's. I swapped 10.00 worth of baseball cards for them. They have 6 dots so I'm assuming 84. The stag handle's bolster is stamped 1154 the yellow 1336. If anyone can tell me more on them i'd appreciate it, like total number made, is there other knives in the set, value...etc.

Just a guess,
But I imagine the Stag one's pattern number is 6254, maybe 5254?
and the yellow one maybe 3254???
And they have the lightningbolt "s"
I may be wrong on the yellow one.
I came across a thread today that talks about some of these Case commemorative sets, or collector sets. Some are done up after market, and get all the art work done afterwards. The paticular knives I was reading about were the Case KKK Knives. A reply from case explained all of this.

...Case has never produced anything like this and never will. Someone has taken our stag trapper, put their artwork on the blades, and packaged it in their own container.

We have been trying to educated our collectors regarding how to verify Genuine and Authorized Case Collectibles. In the last CCC Newletter, we ran an article on page 7. In this article we showed the Longtail C which is a trademark for serialized collectibles that Case produces and distributes.

The Genuine Collectable Medallion is pictured in this article also. This is included in collectable items that have been developed and sold by Case through Authorized Case Dealers. These items may or may not have a serial number.

The aftermarket job which is done on many of our standard product is very deceiving to the consumer. We are striving to make the public aware of these bogus "Case Collectors Series" sets.

You can be certain that Case has more integrity than to produce garbage like this KKK Set.

I have an un-official Case commemorative knife, and usually from what I have seen they have just a brass plate in the corner of the box, and state whatever they are commemorating. So I am guessing yours maybe the same? I forget the value of the 80's trapper pattern, but with these "un-official" collector items, I would guess they are worth whatever the collector is willing to pay for them. I like mine, and spent about $56.00 for it last year.

Of course I may be totally wrog about yours, and am just babbeling as well!

well sfc you may be spot on there, these have little brass plaques too. and somewhere in a trade i have one off the kkk cases too. thanks bunches for sharing the info. mine will not be sold, i have an affection for John memorbial. the kkk on the other hand could go.

I just got my Case Lifetime Members stuff today from the Cae Collectors Club, and the catalog that came with it has a whole line of John Wayne knives they have. I it has smooth chestnut Bone Handles with "DUKE" on the handle. Then an Etch sihloutte of John Wayne on the blade. 6 knife patterns to choose from. Just sharing some "Duke" info for ya!

I can't quite make out the tang, but they look like early 1990's with the long tail C. 5254 itself is probably a $80 knife in mint condition.
