seriously though, that tang stamp is a first for me. Pretty cool though.
I've been looking through lists of old Solingen cutlers and I haven't seen this one yet.
Probably a contract knife...

Alright. It hurts but getting serious for just a minute.

T.J. I sent an email to the German Blade Museum in Solingen Graefrath ( http://www.solingen.de/klingenmuseum/content/index.htm ) and included a copy of the picture you posted. I asked if anyone there could identify the manufacturer that used that tang stamp. I used an online translator so I hope I didn't say their mother worked in a house of ill repute.

I heard on the TV that they had a big snowstorm in the NE and a lot of folks are out of power.
