I have carried a #73L for a while, one of my all time favorite GEC knives. I've used it to do many different chores and the knife really works. I used it to clean a doe I shot almost a year ago exactly, I usually use a Buck 110, but I left it at home in my pack. When I had the doe down I realized I didn't have it on me, So I just pulled out the #73 and went to work, it preformed marvelously.

It's away at GEC right now, but I'm sure it will return soon, it has a real dark patina on the blade, lots of use with that knife.
I sure do miss it now.

I don't carry my #73 jigged cherry all day but its in my pocket when I know I'm going to do some serious cuttin'. I'm thinking of getting one of LL models too. Correct me if I'm wrong but its still like the standard #73 (half stop and all) but you also need to move the liner over to close the knife? Is the pull/half stop strength any different between the LL and regular models?

I got a LL by mistake once, but returned it. I recall it being much, much easier to open. You do have to move the LL over to close it. Can't remember if it had half stops or not but would be surprised if it didn't.

The 73 is probably my favorite carry knife. This was my first and I love it!
I keep it buffed, but I go either way with patina.

Gino, you are gonna love that knife. Don't do like I did, though, and buy more than one; then you never know which to carry and fondle!
I took a favorite stag 735207 with me hunting, but didn't have the courage to stain it up with blood, so I ended up using a similar Moore Maker made by Camillus. Do I spoil my 73's ???

Yep!

These four get regular duty:
A GEC made Bulldog 735109L in ram's horn, a 735108L burnt stag, a 735207 in chocolate diamond jig bone, and a 735207 burnt stag. I carry either in pocket or on a belt sheath... or both! Today they're available for photos as I'm packin' a 235108ECL in Primitive Bone.

I just got back from two weeks of grouse hunting in the UP of Michigan and this 73 was in my pocket the whole time. This is a pic when it was new but I've carried it a lot and it has a bit of patina at this point...
The 73 is a great, stout EDC.

I just gave this #73 to my good friend to carry. I passed it along to him in a KSF Pocket Slip.
I am hoping to see it being used very soon, LOL.
