I keep the knifes in knife folders and knife rolls and cigar boxes and just laying around. The boxes go in a grocery bag. Boxes for knives I had bought before 2006 were in the basement when we flooded on Labor Day weekend of '06 so they ended up in the trash. Fortunately, the knives were upstairs in the safe. Now I have a grocery sack hanging on a hanger in the closet that the boxes go in.

I tend to put my knives in rolls, carrying cases, or in display cases but I do keep the boxes and paperwork. They are stashed in a couple of out of the way places. I to got tired of opening boxes and then replacing the knives in the box each time I wanted to look at them. In addition to the convienience of having the knives readlily accessable, the boxes actually stay in much better condition than they would if I were opening them up time and again.

cardboard boxes marked with months and year of purchase to put knife boxes in . keep paperwork on all knives with date of purchase & price in binders . the binders are numbered that match the knife roll there in. sometimes i sell a newer 1985 to present knife to buy a vintage one. got tired of looking through hundreds of boxes in basement

Tsk Tsk Tsk, what a shame.
Total waste of perfectly good firestarter material.
