Hey! Orvet or El lobo, can one of you guys give me a ball park guess
on the date of this knife? This is the first time I tried a scanner to post a
picture. You can click on it for enlargement.
Thanks Much!

Hello Mitch, The pic was good I have been trying my scanner but my pics are not as good as yours. Got any tips? Seems like mine are different every time, even the size changes!!! I have a Epson RX620 for whatever that is worth. I don't do well with this tech stuff.
Thanks Stockman

Hello stockman! To tell you the truth I don't do that well with tec stuff
either. I have a LEXMARK X 5150, Copier/scanner/fax/e-mail/dishwasher.
I think I paid around $90.00 for it about five or so years ago. All I do is
lay the knife on the glass and scan and then I play with the contrast and
brightness once I have the picture uploaded to my computer screen. I
guess you can search for the sweet spot on your scanner glass and also
try different colored sheets of paper to use behind your knife, to help
with the detail.

Hi Mitch,
How long have you had the knife?
It looks like a fairly modern version of the 505 used for scrimshaw...but the brass bolsters and different pin combination, and no model #...??? Could be a parts, or Work in Progress knife from near the end of days.
Maybe one of the others will have one like it with some history.

Hello Bill;
I just bought the knife at a yard sale down the street from my house,
yesterday. I was out walking the dog and while passing by I shouted out
Do you have any pocket knives for sale? This little grey haired lady said
yes I have this one for $5.00 if you don't think thats to much? All I had
was a 10 dollar bill on me so I told her to keep the change. She was
happy and I was happy. The knife looks like it's never even been
sharpened. She had it wrapped in what looked like a white gym sock. I
told her she could keep the sock!
