Yard Sale Machete - True Temper US 1944

I was happy to find this World War II era machete yesterday. The blade is marked, True Temper 1944 US. The scabbard is marked, U.S. BOYT -44-. It even came with the military belt. 23" from blade tip to end of handle. The blade is 18". It's in pretty good condition. Al

That's really nice, Almy. I remember my dad had one of those back in the 1960s that we would take camping with us. Boyt Harness Company evidently did a lot of canvas work for the military back in the war. Try googling Boyt 44 and look at the returns...

That is a nice machte--Think Miller is right the scabard might be bworth more than the blade!
Looks just like the Onterio's must be goverment spec's from back when??
