All About Pocket Knives

Finally able to get down to the shop and make some metal shavings. I finished up a project for someone, and couple other ones.

This is a Boker that I did this morning. It was originally a slim 2-blader, one of the blades was broken, and the other was pretty worn. But I liked the handles. I had another Boker stockman, that had a tipped main blade, but it was pretty full. So I grabbed the blade and the single spring, and made it into this. Sorry I didn't take any progress picks, I was "in the zone".





This other one I call the Frankenknife. It started out life as a cheap Pakistan barlow. My sister had actually picked this up for me in her travels. She doesn't really know about knives, but it was real nice of her to think of me. Anyway, I liked the horn handles.

I took the knife apart, cleaned everything up, and scrapped the crappy blades. I had some used Imperial blades that fit well, so I used them. The bolsters were hollow, so I filled them with solder to give some beef for pinning. The small blade sat a little low, so I cut a small notch for the nail nick. Didn't come out too bad, and should make a nice user.

I have been tinkering around with knives for a number of years, mostly knife kits in the past. In the past few years, I have gotten more into it. I still have a lot to learn, but am getting a little better with each one I do.

A little scary that people are contacting me about doing something for them, cause I really only do this for fun. I'm flattered that people think my work is good enough to want one. Compared to guys like Kaleb and Dale, I'm a pure novice.

Two very nicely executed "saves" Glenn. That barlow would definately make a great user now with those Imperial blades installed.
