Schrade 136 gets a makeover

I had a couple of these old schrade 136 linemans knives laying around, this was the worst of the two, So I figured I'd fancy it up a bit.

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out. I reprofiled the blade to a point, a bit of filework, brass lined lanyard hole, visible pins, and some of that stinky old ironwood and this is what I got. :p

I'm going to sell this one, I have another I think I'll do up for myself.

Oooohhh lala...That is what I call Major League Improvement.

That is one of the most amazing transitions I have seen in knife improvement to date. Very nice...

How much ?$ :) ,

Thanks guys, I'll get started on the other one pretty soon. I decided not to mark ones like this, as I think it may take away from it.
All the best

IMO you are getting so good that your MM mark needs to be on them.
Look at it like this, (after you die a knife like this will bring big $$$$$)
just like art painters as well as knife makers. When they die the knives they left behind shoot up in VALUE. Can you NOT see the history you are makeing here? Looking back at old things that have dates on them and names become collectables. ::blah:: ::blah::

Its up to you but please rethink this again. IMO ::nod:: ::nod::

For knives like these a makers mark on the inside of the liner is nice. Where it can be seen, but is not obtrusive or obvious. I know a few that take a picture of the knife and make a certificate to go with the knife
I like the filework and that's a pretty nice piece of Ironwood Burl. I think ole sunburst got a good deal on this one. ::tu::

Thanks all for your comments.

I was thinking of a way to mark them without messing up the lines or looks, inside the liner sounds like a good idea. I did it on the Vic florist knife, I think thats how I'll mark them in the future. Besides, It isn't like I made it, I just enhance it's looks :). Inside the liner it is!

P.S she shipped out this morning sunny
