picked this up this weekend...price was right...much handled, never sharpened, made in japan.

( it is trade goods)

I'm hopin for a Trailmaster, which I don't need and can't afford, but I want one........I want one.

I have several Cold Steel Folders and Fixed Blades and for the Price they are all very Good Users!

i have used various cold steel products since the 80s & found most to be good value for the money spent. as with any large producer some duds appeared thru the years but the basic track record was very decent. i believe old lynn started the tanto craze & also got big bowies going with his trailmaster.HiPower

I really want a Twistmaster but I don't know why.

trey the reason you want a twistmaster is because they are like Opinel's but on STEROIDS!I have 2,one of them i picked up at SMKW in Seveirville.It came from the Camillus factory buyout.It wasn't ever finished,it is missing the lock ring and never had an edge put on it,till now.I think it cost me $7.00 a few years ago.My cousin used the other to skin an elk,he said it did an awesome job and it has a nice blood patina on it now.I keep an eye out for them on ebay but they usually bring more than i want to give for one.

The only one I have in hand is The Spike neck knife. Picked it up several years ago. Very sharp.

I have a USA made Twistmaster in transit. I've wanted one for some time and I'm eager to see what I've bought.

I only own one Cold Steel product and it's the Kobun.

After looking for in inexpensive fixed blade, I couldn't find anything that came near it for the money. I think it's a little heavy for a boot knife as Cold Steel advertises, but it's a nice general purpose cutter.

The blade (AUS8) came out of the box as sharp as any knife I've ever owned. As is my habit, I gave it a few swipes on my strop and it's now literally sharp enough to shave with.

I'm thinking of giving one of their smaller folders a try.

Yay for ColdSteel! I've got a Master Hunter that has dressed more than a few deer with ease and has not been resharpened yet. I really like my Recon Tanto even though I haven't done any recon with it. My daily carry is a big ol' Voyager XL with the clip blade. It's like a folding bowie knife, Sharp and functional too.

I picked up this one about 6 months ago. I put it on Ebay and they cancelled the bid said it was against ebay rules.

The Twistmasters show nicely with the Opinels.
The Trailmaster: The Kydex (sp) scabbard has a friction fit and is sort of OK. The leather sheath is kind of .... boxey.
I don't wear this stuff to town.

This is my smallest Cold Steel and probably doesn't belong in the Tactical Knives section. But it's still Cold Steel .

I agree with you, I got one back in the early 1990s and I still have it today If the Zombie Apocalypse (or rather when) I think I'll take it with me when I "bug-out"

Melee weapons can be functional and beautiful) I made myself a knife for hiking in the forest, I did it for more than a week, but the result makes me happy. It's definitely beautiful.

I have had a few, and they have been solid knives. Had a mini ak47 that was used and abused and took it all like a champ, never got loosey goosey. Also have a lite version of the outdoorsman fixed blade which is a great knife, razor sharp, extremely light, with a fantastic grip. Lately I have noticed their prices have took a big jump, which will raise expectations..

I have a Trail Master with a number 2 stamped into the butt. Anyone know what this means?

Only ever had one , the Finn wolf , nice knife with a nice scandi grind and Aus8a steel below the esee expat medallin

Over the years I bought a fair number of Cold Steel knives and have been more than satisfied with them.

The #2 means it was a "second" and some flaw that prevented it from being sold to a distributor. These were sometimes sold by C.S. at large guns shows in California and Arizona, where I bought some years ago....
