All About Pocket Knives

Got naked bone GECs? I'm referring to what GEC calls ivory bone. In other words, smooth natural colored bone. No dye jobs, no jigging, no fluff. Got pics? Their ivory bone is becomming a favorite of mine, though I have but one example. I've been lax with pics lately, but will add one soon.

barlow,pioneer farmer,pioneer farmer,congress,conductor,3 scouts, & dogleg. the stainless pioneer was labeled smooth ivory bone & the barlow was labeled primitive. as with many classifications in gec : you get what you get, gec has it's own classes & seasoned knifemen are often confused as to how patterns are labeled. a recent example was what they called the 1/2 congress which we might have called a 1/2 whittler, especially since they already had a 2 blade congress in their inventory.---HiPower

Was going to ask if there was a non-liner lock version of the corset shield 73. Based on boggs comment, I assume yes. That one really appeals to me. Anyone know what year it was made?

I've seen elsewhere a 25 single blade in almond bone that is essentially colorless natural bone.

i'm no xpert on all the issues. the production charts make my eyes hurt--somewhere i have a white bone tooth.--HiPower

Not Ivory Bone, but GEC's Primitive bone is natural weathered bone(some more weathered than others).

I bought this one a while back, and only recently checked 735208 almond bone production numbers for 2008. This knife was never made, only serialized versions. I almost rehandled it before I realized it wasn't listed.

Glad you posted that one Barry, made me dig mine out...no serial number on it....

I seem to recall that GEC would crank out a few extra at the end of each run in 07 and 08 with no numbers.

Hmmm. We might need to get 'em to update their production totals. There must be more.

Yeah, Smooth Almond is the factory description. It's very similar to the Primitive Bone.HTAYQ!

Greg @ TSA had them,when released back in 2008____there is a photo of one, on his web.site and it's listed as, 735208 "Almond"Oil Stained Bone only 35 made___
