after gec introduced ebony i initially opted for that wood . later i started preferring the snakewood since it's so attractive. i find the cubans & 73s especially attractive, how about you guys?--HiPower

Very nice looking wood! Really like the grain pattern on the #36 Sunfish and #53 two knives to the right.
I've been considering a Snakewood GEC for a while. Unfortunately, I always seem to end up picking Ebony instead. Hmmm. ::hmm::

Fine showing, Dennis. I like both ebony & snakewood, but only well figured snakewood. Gotta say I really like the new lighter colored s'wood they're using as shown in the saber Ben Hogan & the 73.

goggled snake & found the one gec is using to be exceptional. rated as about 3 times as hard as hickory, super expensive & although not the hardest in world it has the most weight to mass ratio in the world. used by some companies to make cello & violin bows. largest trees found about 20 in. in diameter.---HiPower

Wow! That is one super sweet 72 Monk!!! Good idea to do a 72 in snakewood... There are some patterns I am surprised they didn't do in snakewood but I guess they can't all be. ::uc:: ::super_happy::
