All About Pocket Knives

Ever since I sold my Buckmaster 184, I've been wanting another. Just haven't been able to spend what their wanting on eBay so I decided to pick this up. Has a lot of similarities to the Buckmaster and was made by Buck.

Forensic Jim, I have been watching one of these at auction. I also have been following a few on eBay but they appear to be selling as high as Buckmasters. Do you mind me asking where you found yours? I would love to have one for my AR-15. Sweet knife. Thanks!

Found it on eBay for a buy it now. Probably paid too much, but it is in excellent condition and a lot less expensive than a Buckmaster. I'd still buy a Buckmaster if I could find one at a more reasonable price.

All the Phrobis knives I see on eBay are selling high, some higher than Buckmasters. Sweet find!

Forensic Jim, I just picked up this Lan Cay M9 and was wondering if you knew anything about them or where I could find some info (a good resource book maybe)? It kind of reminds me of your Phrobis/Buck. Thanks!

Great looking knife guys, i have to also admit to loving the buckmaster as one of those knives i remember from the 80's and always wanting one, now well out of my price range like most,

out of interest is that a belt cutter at the bottom of the sheath ?

That's a wire cutter, works by sticking the lug through the hole in the knife blade and using the back of the knife blade to pinch the wire. Handy if you need to excape some barbed wire. Hope never to have to use it.

1967redrider, I don't know what the difference is between the Lan Cay M9 and the Phrobis as they appear to be identical. I know the Phrobis was made by Buck in the early 80's and is a less expensive alternative to the Buckmaster 184. The only thing it's lacking is the saw tooth blade that the Buckmaster has. It's really a hefty, well made knife and sheath.
