these were cleared by using the inexpensive ka-bar kuk. no cpipping or rolling of edge even though we started with a shaving bevel. looks like ka-bar got it right, the limb with dark center is a bodark [bois d'arc] one of the hardest american woods.--HiPower

Hell ya that's what every coon hunter needs on his side--i always had an Onterio on my belt or in the truck--since giving it up i've seen some nice blades i woulda loved to had back when i was at it all the time. What kinda $$ are those i'd like to have one

Had a hammer headed bronc run wild with me when I was a kid back in the 60's. I let that SOB have his head figgered I'd let him run till he ran out of gas. He had a deep tank. Made it to end of the pasture and the knot head wouldn't turn. He was goin to Arizona I guess. He plowed into a bois-darc fence post goin flat out. The post split and speared that bastard right through the heart. I cut my saddle loose and it was a long hot walk home.

Got back home and the old man beat my ass for killin his horse. He got over it. I healed up.

owd wullie is right about bodark fence posts. they call them the 100 year post in parts of texas. european used this plant to form impentreable hedge rows to stop german troops. the thorns make a fester whereever they puncture.-great horse story i have a few myself but another time.--HiPower
