I recently picked this knife up becuase I have never seen one in a stag before. I have seen maybe 3 of these before in celluloid. I think it is a rare company but I could not find any info on it anywhere. It has the fit and feel of a 1980's Fightn Rooster or Bulldog.

Any help/info with this knife would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Any other pics of these knives would be welcomed as well.

I found Lauderdale, Castilian Springs, TN 1985-1996. They also marketed as Bull Brand. So you were dead on with your comparison to 1980s Fightin' Rooster and Bulldog.

Writing this from memory--In the 1980's Joe Lauderdale was Frank Buster's salesman at all the knife shows. Joe also had his own brands--Widow Creek and Bull Brand--made in the same place as the Fight'n Roosters.

He was also Frank's Brother In Law in the 80's. He had a Hupmobile(?) he restored, first one I ever heard of or saw. His son Eddie, collected knives when he was a kid. I was told by a friend in Nashville he passed in the mid 90's. They use to have a flea market at the Nashville Fairground and he would set up there, but lived north of Nashville. I only remember seeing Stockmans, IIRC they were are all 1 of 200. A guy in Ohio.......Silas Denton had a large collection/dealer of both brands at one time. I'd say he has passed also. I got a couple; a stag Bull Brand and a WC red cell. Joe gave me one Tiger Striped cell but it gassed bad, real bad. Got it hangin' on the wall. You are right, you do not see alot of them.

Great info guys. Without seeing a tang stamp I would have guessed Bulldog.

I had a Bull Brand stockman with green and white Peppermint stripe cell handles that gassed out....Looked just like the one Ramrod posted. ::nod::
Same type etching except where that one says Widow Creek it said Bull Brand... ::shrug::

I am not sure if the buyer knew the history. I did not include the 1 of 200 in the listing.

I had some scanning to do so I included these, maybe they will come in handy down the road. Just Click to enlarge.

Looking through the storage pod this week-end and came across these.......from Fight'n Rooster Club news letters.
Frost now owns "German Bull" and it is my understanding; Made in that same "factory".

The way I understand.......They are just made in the same factory.
And the photo's I have seen of that factory, it looks more like a shop :?

EDIT: These two scans were from different news letters.......

Ok....that sounds about right. ::nod:: ......I knew the quality of the German Bulls was definitely not the same great quality of the Rooster's. 8)

Dead thread revival!

Never heard of them before but she looked pretty so I took a chance and bid. Happy I did!

Sounds like the pattern one of you mentioned earlier (12 plus years ago)
