Coffee Case

This one was inspired by Oupa and his friends over at knifeforums.
It started out as a SHC 2005 calendar series Case 6254 with Bermuda green scales.
I made it into a single blade and put new scales on it that are made out of epoxy, super glue and coffee grounds. I tried some stippling on the bolsters, but that didn't turn out too well. So I'm just going to make it an EDC for a while and see how the handles hold up.

JOE62 ; Are the coffee grounds on the serface of the scales?
Did you make a molde for this ?

Sorry if I wasn't that clear before, but here's how I did it.
After I separated the knife and pulled the bone off, I reassembled it. Then I put down a nice coat of epoxy and stuck some coffee to it, I let it dry, then added super glue to that and put more coffee grounds on and let it dry again. I kept building it up until I got the thickness I wanted. Then I filled in all the imperfections with more super glue. I then filed and sanded them into shape. After that I sealed them with more super glue and used 00 steel wool, then 600 wet or dry sandpaper to smooth them out. I had to do that a couple of times, because I tried to use an electric buffer to polish them and I melted the outer super glue. So I had to go back to the steel wool and sand paper. After doing a couple more of rounds of glue, wool & sanding I got it to the point where I was satisfied with them. They're not perfect, but good enough for a daily user.

I got some other ideas brewing. (I know, that was bad)
But I can't take credit for coming up with this technique. I seen it at Oupa and friends. They are the ones with the real talent.

oupa can take a turd and make a nice set of handles. just don't put your lips on em!

I made a couple of pair of pistol grips for Single Action Colts several years ago, out of tree bark that I epoxied. Everyboby loved them and wanted to know what they were made of, but I was ashamed to tell them it was bark off of a Chinese Elm tree. It made some nice knife handles, too, but I never fessed up to what it was.
