All About Pocket Knives

I personally think that someone ruined this bulldog knife by re handling it. What do you guys think? Or do you think this didn't affect the value?

Agreed! Not an attractive design at all and each side having such a radically different design isn't helping matters either. Hard to imagine it selling for $103, but it did.

Looks like someone with costume jewelry experience made the handles.
If this person didn't get so "Picasso Like" I think they could produce some unique scales.
But they need to simplify and tone it down a bit.
Hey~ maybe they should have used real toe nails from an elephant.............

a nice GEC bulldog sold for 89 today though... woulda rather had that with good scales for the money. hate when people ruin knives then turds pay top dollar for em!

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. always try to be polite when commenting on something or someones looks and be careful who you talk to about this subject or you might just get a black eye. that seller moves alot of his custom creations. there are many who do find his work pretty. we cant all be michael prater. there are many customized knives that are not the greatest. i'm far from perfect but i have a huge pet peeve about words like ugly and such. not to sound preachy or anything.

So, suggesting someone will get a black eye is polite? Can you explain how the black eye will come about?
I would suggest that you grow out of your HUGE pet peev about the word UGLY.
Personally, I think the knife design is amateurish and ugly.

that knife is butt ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know that. i dont want to hurt the artists and all his buyers feelings .i suggest i get a day job. it may be hard to explain where i am coming from. i once overheard my young drop dead gorgeous waitress telling her other customers ,an older couple that looked nothing like her, how UGLY a house was. she used the word a few times. i later told her nicely that since those customers weren't pretty at all , she should try to use a different word that would be less offensive to their feelings. if they had been pretty then it would have been ok. she totally agreed and thanked me for the eye opener. if you have ever heard a bunch of idiots call a homely girl ugly, it is not cool to say the least. about the black eye, someone could get one from anyone that didn't like being called ugly ,or their knives either. watching ones mouth is a safety precaution. when i see big dudes with their 26 inch rims pull up , i dont tell them what i really think. i hope i made sense. this is my first ever internet forum. i really love and appreciate it. hope i am not too annoying. thank you very much. elvis has left the building.

thanks joe. i was only napping. i know that chatting on a forum is limited to the few words one chooses unlike real conversations where it it easy to explain things. at least on here i get to pick from all these cool yellow guys.

lol yes... i will create another thread for an official opnion on this knife compared to a GEC bulldog abolone which sold for five more dollars.... which would they rather have?

J W, I'm sure you meant no offense Sir, but I am a bit of a Picasso fan, and this looks much more like an arts and crafts project than his work.

Nonetheless, I can fully understand your misinterpretation … after all, they did forget to glue on the macaroni !
